DJ Kentaro returns in August 2012 with his new album 'Contrast', his first since 2007's 'Enter'. One of the world's top turntabalists (receiving top marks and winning at the DMC's no less),
'Contrast' sees Kentaro reinforce his undoubted production chops and add a destructive floor-filling sound to his music.
Featuring the likes of Kid Koala, Foreign Beggars, DJ Krush, Fire Ball, D-Styles, MC Zulu and Matrix & Futurebound, DJ Kentaro has gathered a talented group of guest artists for this record.

A full-length beat lp from the collaboration of two Hungarian dj/producers, Mil and Suhov offers a personal view of the country's musical heritage.The genre is somewhere around instrumental
hip-hop and features unique 70's and 80's samples. The creators raked up a dozen forgotten vinyls, including soundtracks, freaky Hungarian beat, jazz, disco and funky records. Howewer officially
blocked, the Western music found its way to the Eastern Blocks' youth via the Luxemburg Radio, and created an underground club scene and some really hard-to-find singles. Mil and Suhov infused
these items with dusty grooves and stricts rhythms so at last they can return to the dancefloor.

After two long play albums – “Translations” (2007) and “Unfold” (2008) – HipHop producer Samon Kawamura is back with his “Spur of the Moment” series; a collection of impromptu beats, whose
essence lies in their spontaneity. In this series, Kawamura acts on impulse, capturing raw experiences and fleeting moments of inspiration and building beats which embody them; anything from a
flash of insight whilst in the studio to encounters whilst travelling the world. In order to preserve these transient moments as quickly as possible Kawamura headed straight to the drawing board
and created sounds – “Spur of the Moment” is the result. Unrehearsed and true to Kawamura’s roots. THAIMA is the first instalment of the series; 25 tracks inspired by vintage sounds from
Thailand. Simply put, Kawamura has taken classics sounds from Bangkok’s street kitchens and infused them with his own HipHop flavours. Dinner is served.

"State Machine" is inspired by the human apparatus which is a complex 'machine' capable of an extremely wide range of 'states' (as in conditions with respect to circumstances). As 'machines' we
can relate to one another through these rich and meaningful 'states'. They help to define and shape the paths which we travel throughout our lives.
This album in and of itself is meant to be a stateful sonic journey, traversing a variety of genres, moods and styles (from angst riddled raps to relaxing soulful instrumentals).
Nick's 4th full length release features 17 original songs (50 mins) including gems from A.Dd+, Bavu, Crew54 and LOEGz.

Ichiro an electronic beat producer from Tokyo, Japan drops a lovely 36 track instrumental album (with hidden tracks included) entitled LoopShu. It is for sale but there are two free tracks for
download on the bandcamp page. Ichiro has a very impressive mastered sound to his works. The sound is full and sophisticated; lush and floaty melodies with crisp drums and electronic beeps and
blips.
Décidément, l'hexagone est un vivier sans fin de compositeurs/beatmakers de talents, et quand on passe avoir fait le tour de la question, on trouve toujours une nouvelle tête ou bien un vétéran
resté dans l'ombre prêt à fesser la concurrence. C'est le cas de NabH24. Derrière un nom digne d'un virus de la grippe, l'homme possède un CV très solide, ayant produit pour des noms tels que la
Scred Connexion, Mysa, Le 4Romain mais aussi et surtout Smiff N Wessun, Inspectah Deck et Big Noyd. Pourtant, celà n'a aucune espèce d'importance ici, car ce beatmaker instrumentiste opère avec
cet opus, "Plugged", un virage dans sa démarche artistique, avec une volonté nette d'affirmer une réelle musicalité au delà du simple beatmaking.
Au cours de onze tracks denses et cohérents, Nab nous fait donc voyager dans son univers musical, entre Soul, Blues, Soul et cinoche français vintage... Une atmosphère intimiste nimbe tout
l'album, tel un film entrecoupé de dialogues cultes et charismatiques, et on ne saurait résister à l'invitation. Entre tracks lumineux et aériens ( le superbe "Summer Days" ou l'envoutant
"African Smile") et morceaux plus lourds ("Leave Me" totalement saisissant entre drums massifs et guitares meurtries ou l'énorme "Gangsta Blues", qui vous prend littéralement aux tripes dans une
vibe évidemment blues et épique à souhait), NabH24 fait preuve d'un savoir-faire et d'une maîtrise dépassant de loin le cadre de la simple production Hip Hop dont il vient à l'origine...
Non, ici, nous avons le droit à des solos de haut-vol, des arrangements extrêmement travaillés, des compositions touchant au travail d'orfèvre. Quelque part entre les Black Keys et Just Blaze, le
beatmaker en provenance de Montpellier tire son épingle du jeu à chaque plage, "Plugged" ne souffrant d'aucun track réellement dispensable (fait rare!), possédant une cohérence réelle tout en
sachant alterner les ambiances et les influences. On citera encore le manouche "The Roms Trip" ou "No More Trouble" (tribute à Bob Marley), preuve de l'éclectisme musical du bonhomme.
En un mot comme en cent, ce "Plugged" est clairement une révélation, un album à réellement découvrir de fond en comble, nous donnant clairement l'envie de voir ce beatmaker associés à des
artistes vocaux (MC's ou chanteurs) ambitieux et visionnaires pour nous pondre une sorte de Blakroc franchouillard. Ne passez pas à côté!
